How to Prepare for Intacct Advantage 2019

The Sage Intacct Advantage 2019 conference is fast approaching. Taking place from October 21-25 in Las Vegas, the event will feature an impressive lineup of speakers and sponsors to help you improve your business operations. Whether you’re hoping to learn about ways to leverage Intacct for your organization, network with like-minded professionals, or even just enjoy Las Vegas for a few nights, here are a few ways to prepare to ensure that you get the most out of the conference.

Pre-register for sessions

Closely review the session catalogue to identify the sessions that you want to attend. With more than 200 options to choose from, it may seem overwhelming at first, but taking the time to read through the descriptions in advance will give you a smoother experience at the event.

Each session has limited space, so pre-register to guarantee a spot and ensure that you won’t need to wait in any standby lines. In addition, signing up for sessions in advance will allow you to begin outlining your itinerary for the conference, so that you can book travel and meetings appropriately.

If you’re a finance professional, you’ll have a plethora of session options. Here are a few that we recommend:

  • Payables Transformation for Growing Businesses, David Schultz, Director, Solution Consulting, Tipalti, Wednesday, October 23, 4:45pm-5:15pm
  • Best Practices for the Month-End Close on Sage Intacct, Shivang Patel, Director of Sales Engineering, FloQast, Wednesday, October 23, 4:30pm-5:30pm
  • Top 3 Trends Every Modern Controller Needs to Know, Chris Sluty, Co-founder and COO, FloQast; Brent Thomas, CPA and Corporate Controller, Astin Partners; Kevin Neary, Controller, Wistia; Jerry Raphael, EVP of Finance and Operations, Stack Overflow; Jamie Illing - Chief Financial Officer, ProctorU, Thursday, October 24, 1:45pm-2:45pm

Know the sponsors

More than 60 companies are sponsoring Advantage 2019, and they will all have booths in the Marketplace Expo. Review the sponsor list before the conference so you can make a game plan for visiting the relevant booths.

There will be designated breaks between sessions to explore the Expo, but if you’re looking to have a bit more time with a particular vendor or avoid the crowds, you can schedule a meeting in advance for a more customized and targeted conversation.

RSVP to third party events

The activities don’t stop outside the conference hall. Many event sponsors and other third party companies will be hosting additional happy hours, dinners, and other events for conference goers. Initial announcements for these events will likely have been sent already, so go back in your inbox and RSVP to any invitations.

If there’s a particular company you would like to connect with, it may be worth it to reach out and ask if they are hosting anything, or if you can schedule a 1-1 coffee break or meal to meet them.

Book your accommodations, ground transportation, and meals

Aside from the final party, all Advantage 2019 activities will take place at the MGM Grand. Attendees can book rooms at a discounted rate of $175 per night during the conference (click here to book). If you do not wish to stay at the MGM Grand, there is a plethora of other hotel options in the area.

Taxis from McCarran International Airport run approximately $20, and ride sharing services sit in the $10-$15 range. Note that the ride sharing pickup and drop off area is in the parking garage vs. the taxi pickup spot in the ground transportation zone (find the specific locations here). You can also call the MGM concierge to coordinate transportation via the Las Vegas Airport Shuttle.

Intacct provides breakfast Wednesday-Friday and lunch Wednesday-Thursday, as well as some light bites during the receptions and third party events, but you may need to find your own food at times. Make reservations for these meals in advance, so you won’t be scrambling to find somewhere to eat. The MGM itself is home to more than 30 restaurants, and there is no shortage of additional options on the Las Vegas strip.

Draft your itinerary

Advantage 2019 will be chock full of speaker sessions, networking opportunities, sponsor presentations, and happy hour receptions. In order to make the most of everything that’s going on, outline your agenda and highlight your sessions, meetings, and events. And don’t forget to build in time to take a breather from the event, so you can stay energized and focused throughout the week.
